Theta Labs Welcomes Korea University as New EdgeCloud AI Customer
Theta Labs, the leading provider of decentralized cloud infrastructure for AI, media, and entertainment, is pleased to announce that Korea University, ranked #7 in Asia, has joined as an EdgeCloud AI customer through its Universal Transfer Learning (UTL) Lab led by Professor Donghyun Kim. On the heels of KAIST, Yonsei University and Seoul Women's University, Korea university marks a continued EdgeCloud customer adoption across the academic sector in Asia. This multi-year agreement will allow researchers at Korea University to leverage Theta EdgeCloud’s scalable GPU resources to enhance research in AI, including transfer learning, domain adaptation, and multimodal learning. Founded in 1905 as the nation’s first university funded, Korea University is one of South Korea's most prestigious universities. With over 33,000 students enrolled across 18 colleges and divisions, the school offers a broad range of programs in Engineering, Law, Medicine, and Business. The UTL Lab focuses on advancing the transferability and adaptability of AI models across diverse fields, driving innovation in various industries. Through this agreement, Theta will provide UTL Lab with the highest performing NVIDIA H100 GPUs across East Asia needed to train advanced AI models, including domain and task transfer, and efficient adaptation of foundation models. This will empower researchers at Korea University to push the boundaries of AI innovation by utilizing Theta’s decentralized, high-performance distributed GPU computing platform. This partnership comes as the UTL Lab's recent paper, titled "Weak-to-Strong Compositional Learning from Generative Models for Language-based Object Detection" has been accepted at ECCV 2024 and CVPR Workshop 2024. ECCV (European Conference on Computer Vision) is one of the top international conferences focused on advancements in computer vision and AI, while CVPR (Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition) is among the most prestigious conferences in AI and machine learning, drawing global researchers to present cutting-edge work in the field. Theta Labs recently welcomed its first corporate customer, Jamcoding, one of South Korea’s leading coding education programs. In addition, EdgeCloud has gained significant traction in academia with Seoul Women's University (SWU), KAIST, and Yonsei University utilizing its infrastructure to advance their AI research in various cutting edge fields.
